As I read the Bible this morning, a verse surged at my heart..."Do you think you can mess with the dreams of the poor? You can't, for God makes their dreams come true." (Psalm 14:6 MSG)
That's a verse to bounce around in your head for a while, isn't it?
What does it mean? I'm not completely sure, but one thing I am sure of...
God cares for the unfortunate and under-resourced. His heart beats for those who have very little...and He desires to overwhelm them with love and provision. The poor are at the center of God's attention and concern.
Sadly, I can't remember the last time the poor was at the center of my attention and concern. I have a long way to go to become more like Jesus.
