Next Gas 11 Miles

Over the last few years, we've had a "car issue" on just about every vacation. Last week's trip was no exception.

Around 8:30pm, we had just passed Baker en route to Las Vegas. If you're unfamiliar with Baker, it's where the tall thermometer stands in the middle of nowhere--the gateway of the Mojave desert.

As we began to climb the mountains, the low fuel indicator light went on in our Sequoia. There are no gas stations between Baker and Vegas, so I decided to return to Baker.

Problem was...there were no exits until you reached the summit. About halfway back down the hill toward Baker, DeeDee pushed the on-board computer button to discover that we only had enough gas for 5 miles--and the road sign we just passed said "Next Gas 11 miles". Worried that we might run out of gas in the middle of nowhere in the dark, we began to pray.

Amazingly, we pulled into the closest gas station in Baker. DeeDee pushed the computer button which indicated we had enough fuel for 0 miles. I wonder how many miles we traveled with no gas?

Does God keep vehicles running without gas? I know He does.
