Every once in a while I come across a verse that seems to punch me in the gut. It confronts my complacency and challenges my comfort zones. Today I feel this as I read what Jesus says...
"Have I been with you all this time and you still do not know Me?" (John 14:9 NRSV)
I couldn't tell you how many hours I have spent in my pursuit of knowing God. And yet, I know I'm not where I should be. A gap exists between where I am in my spiritual journey and where God desires for me to be. I still do not know God like I should.
But this isn't a "downer"...rather, this motivates me because I know there's so much more God desires for me to experience as I live, follow and serve in His Kingdom.
