Today my mind started generating all kinds of thoughts as I read..."Christ is the head from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow." (Ephesians 4:15-16)That phrase...'when each part is working properly' jumps off the page at me.
I can really see this in human anatomy. When my back hurts, my whole body slows down. When my brain is malfunctioning, my whole body is stalled. When I'm congested with allergies, my body doesn't get things done. But when my parts are operating well, my whole body accomplishes incredible things.
Every believer has a responsibility within the church they attend (their 'body'). Progress is directly linked to everyone doing their part. When each part functions, the body moves forward.
If I don't do what I can do, my church is affected. Everyone is affected by my non-involvement. This is something I need to take seriously...for the sake of my church.
