So God Could Do Something Great

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?”
“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. (John 9:1-3)

As it was in JC’s time, so it is in ours…it’s often assumed that if someone is suffering, it’s because of sin. Yes, sin causes suffering in our world, but as it was in this case, the person’s sin or the sin of their parents didn’t cause this. God allowed the man to be born blind so He could do something great in his life.

Don’t assume the problem you’re facing is because of something you did wrong. It’s not always because you’re sinful…it might be that God wants to do something in your life.
