"Be angry, and yet do not sin…" (Ephesians 4:26)

Paul is saying there are going to be moments when you get angry.
There will be times of high emotion, high stress and high tension.
The Bible doesn’t say you can’t ever be angry.
The issue is when those feelings surface...
What do you do with what you feel?
The Bible says we must handle our anger so we do not sin or hurt others.

And then the apostle Paul gives us a word picture...
"do not let the sun go down on your anger..." (Ephesians 4:26)

Here’s the point…Be angry as short as possible
Be angry in the moment, but don’t carry it into tomorrow...
Don’t allow yesterday’s anger to carry into today...
Don’t allow today’s anger to carry into tomorrow.
The point is so very clear...Get rid of your anger as soon as possible

Why is this so important? Paul tells us with the very next verse...
"and do not give the devil an opportunity." (Ephesians 4:27)

Our word “opportunity” came from a Greek word which means “a place”.
In other words, as long as I carry anger, I give the devil a place in my heart.

So...if you were God and You loved you the way God loves you...
And if you understood anger the way God does...
What would you say to you?

I bet you’d say something just like this...
"Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity." (Ephesians 4:26-27)
