Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.” Elisha replied, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit.”   (2 Kings 2:9)

 

Elijah offers a blank check and Elisha doesn’t hesitate.

Why did he ask for a “double share”?

Elisha knew he would face difficulties, challenges and impossibilities…
Elisha knew that in order for him to serve God in the days ahead…
He needed the same courage, the same resolve and the same boldness Elijah had.

What do you face right now?
 I think the mindset of too many believers is far too limited...

We shouldn't be afraid to ask God for big things!!

You don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.    (James 4:2)
