Traffic

Do you ever feel like your mind is spinning because of all you have to do?

Today was one of those days for me. I've got a lot to accomplish this week, I've got several important meetings to plan, I've got to begin getting everything ready for our upcoming vacation week, my desk looks like an explosion went off (more than usual) and I've just added 4 more appointments to my weekly calendar.

My daily reading brought me to this verse...
"Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at Me, your God, above everything." (Psalm 46:10 MSG)

The metaphor of my busy-ness being like "traffic" is accurate...
Everything getting more hectic as "rush hour" approaches.

In the midst of this "traffic", God calls me to come away and place my attention on Him. It's within this focus that I find stillness for my soul--a commodity hard to come by in our culture.

I need to escape the "traffic" and spend time with God more often.
