Extravagant Worship

One of the best examples of worship is found in this passage..."A sinful woman learned that Jesus was eating at the house. So she brought an alabaster jar of expensive perfume and stood behind Jesus at his feet, crying. She began to wash his feet with her tears and she dried them with her hair, kissing them many times and rubbing them with the perfume." (Luke 7:37-38 NCV)

I see so many elements of worship here, but one stands out...
kissing Jesus' feet. Interestingly, "to kiss" is one of the key definitions of the term "worship".

What would cause this woman to go to such measures of worship? Within the text, Jesus tells me..."All her sins are forgiven, and that is why she has shown great love." (Luke 7:47 CEV)
The basic meaning of "worship" is "expressing your love to God".

This woman was extravagant in her worship because she realized how much grace had been given to her...where she would be or could be without Jesus' forgiveness.

Why does my worship fall flat at times? Could it be that I have forgotten or not recognized how much Jesus has done for me?
