(God) "I am about to rain bread from heaven for you and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test test to see whether they will walk in my law or not." (Exodus 16:4 ESV)"gather a day's portion every day"...
that means that God is calling the people to trust Him day by day. He's not going to give them enough to last a month or even a week. He's only going to give them one day's supply.
Why? Because God wants to see if the people will trust Him.
I read that and swallow hard because that's a lot of trust. I like to know about tomorrow. I don't like to be limited to just a day-by-day perspective.
God promises to provide when I trust Him. I need help with this kind of trust...I can't do this on my own.
