Jesus says something that smacks me with reality..."the way is hard that leads to life." (Matthew 7:14 ESV)Even though Jesus said it, no one thinks this way. For some reason, we think following Christ is going to be convenient and easy.
And yet, there are days when I realize the difficult choices I must make and deliberate actions I must take to follow wholeheartedly. All too often, in order to truly experience all Christ has for me, I am forced to come to terms with issues in my life that demand vicious uprooting. It's not always neat, clean and a "snap".
To pursue Him more this year, I know I will have to continue reaching and pressing in--otherwise I run the risk of lethargy and stagnancy. I realize that following Jesus always calls me uphill.
