St. Patrick

Maewyn was born an Irish pagan in AD 385.
As a young adult, he came to Christ and attended a monastery in Gaul (modern-day France). He adopted the name Patrick and eventually was sent back to Ireland to convert the pagan Irish Druids. Because of his effectiveness, those who opposed were always after his life, but he escaped every time and served God 30 years as Bishop of Ireland.

Patrick died on March 17, AD 460 and St. Patrick's Day has been celebrated ever since. Originally a religious observance, today's version of this day is ironically quite different.

I only hope to be used by God to reach people in my culture as much as St. Patrick did in his.

Throw a "Green Party" in honor of St. Patrick!!
