A phrase tucked away in John 6 grabs me..."Jesus knew from the beginning who did not believe and who would betray him."
(John 6:64 ESV)
How did Jesus love these people despite what he knew about them? How did he still care? How did continue to reach out to them?
I struggle to love the people who support and love me back.
And candidly, I often avoid those who don't.
The love of Christ is truly beyond anything I have...
And yet, according to Paul, I am to become more like Jesus...
"God decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son...We see the intended shape of our lives in Him." (Romans 8:29 MSG)
Wow...the challenge is in the knowing.
