Last week while at a bookstore, a book cover with a guy standing arms out in the rain while everyone else is under umbrellas caught my attention. Honestly, God has used a visual "hook" like this many times to lead me to something I need to read...and I felt snagged to read "Downpour".
Here's the kicker...God had already been talking to me about His rain for my soul. I have been praying and journaling about my need of God's rain upon my heart and mind for several weeks.
The subtitle of the book reads "an encounter with God that will soak you". I wonder how many people I know need that kind of experience? My prayer is--"pour out rain in buckets, O God" (Psalm 68:9 MSG) in my life and in the lives of those around me.
