God says..."I get to the root of things." (Jeremiah 17:10 MSG).I know exactly what that's like. I've experienced God getting to the root of things in my life. Sometimes He gently uses a spade...other times, He forcefully uses a mattock.
Even though the process may be uncomfortable, it is always done so I will be more productive. Jesus promises this..."He prunes the branches, so they will produce even more." (John 15:2 NLT)
I don't always understand why God does what He does, but I do know that God is an incredible gardener, working hard to bring out the best in my life.
