Jesus made this statement because possessions cause me to focus on them--buying them, investing them, protecting them, saving them.
The more things I have (or get), the more I focus on them.
To the contrary, living for God demands generosity.
I think my focus is too much on what I have (and keep getting) and not enough on using my resources for God's purposes.
The question is...Am I willing to give it away when God asks?
