"When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink?...'Whenever you did on of these things to someone overlooked and ignored, that was Me...you did it to Me'" (Matthew 25:37 & 40 MSG)This past Saturday morning 19 of us gathered to put together sack lunches and delivered them to homeless people downtown as a part of our Brown Bag Outreach.
It wasn't much in human terms--only 98 lunches--but, on a spiritual level, we did what Jesus calls everyone to be involved in--reaching out with compassion to those who desperately need love and resources.
I'm quite sure I received far more than the homeless did...
To work with my friends and family giving out resources to others is an incredible experience.
I think God was smiling as we brought joy to the His heart.
