Upside-Down Leadership

The concept of 'upside-down leadership' grabs my attention..."Let the greatest among you become as the least and the leader as one who serves." (Luke 22:26)

I think Jesus taught this so often because we struggle with the whole leadership paradigm. It's easy to do leadership like the culture around us dictates--expecting perks and privileges as 'top dog'. And yet, Jesus calls us to serve more than anyone else when we get into top positions. Think about it...the lowest servant does all the yucky, menial tasks.

Lord, help me to carry out "leadership" your way...serve first.
