Do It Anyway

Somehow there’s a misbelief that those who do great things for God never face fear. Some believe that people who do great things for God live on a level of faith that is above any fear in their lives.

If that’s the case, why does God tell so many people in the Bible…”Don’t be afraid!”? If people who do great thing for God are never afraid, then why did God tell people like Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Jehoshaphat, Nehemiah, and ALL of the disciples to not be afraid?

The Bible is full of people who faced great fear but did great things for God.

After reading through the Bible accounts and knowing many people who have done and are doing great things for God, I'm convinced that those who do great things for God face fear, but do what God says anyway.

There’s a guy in the Bible that faced fear, but God wanted to use him to accomplish something spectacular…The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak tree at Ophrah that belonged to Joash. Gideon, Joash’s son, was separating some wheat from the chaff in a winepress to keep the wheat from the Midianites. The angel of the LORD appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the LORD is with you!” (Judges 6:11-12)

I wonder what God has called you to do.
I wonder what purpose God has for you to accomplish. I wonder what God has in store for you to be a part of. I wonder what’s keeping you down low when you should be out in the open doing great things for God.

You need to ask yourself: Is my fear keeping me from obeying God?
