Guard your heart more than anything else, because the source of your life flows from it. --Proverbs 4:23

One of the greatest things we can ever learn is how to monitor our hearts.

Interestingly though, we’ve become really good at simply modifying our behavior. From early on in our childhood and throughout our lives, we’ve learned how to filter our words and actions to fit certain environments. We learned what not to do or say to get a date…to have a good job interview.

We learned sometimes the hard way what doesn’t work out well if you say or do and what we should do or say for it to go well at school, work or home.

We were taught to "behave", but never to monitor our hearts. And that’s a problem because everything in my life is affected by my heart.

It’s not good enough to modify my behavior...I must learn to monitor my heart.
